Abu-Ghazaleh to Meet Ban Ki-moon in New York.
HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman of UN Global Alliance for ICT and Development (GAID) will be leading a high-ranking delegation from the Alliance to meet with UN Secretary-General Mr. Ban Ki-moon on February 8, 2010 at the UN Headquarters in New York.
During the meeting, HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh will discuss GAID’s 2010 plan and mechanisms to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) through the use of ICT for a sustainable development on an international level and in the developing countries in particular.
In addition, HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh will update the Secretary-General on the “Community Rights Declaration in Information” which the Alliance is currently carrying out.
Moreover, the need to launch an international initiative to develop ICT for the protection of people and properties will be tackled.

TAGI to Audit King Abdullah II Award for Youth Innovation and Achievement .
The Talal Abu-Ghazaleh International & Co. International (TAGI) has been given the green light by King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD), to audit procedures for granting ten awards presented by the Fund for youth, innovation and development, and require two-year field visits to a number of Arab countries including Lebanon, Egypt, Sudan, Palestine and Jordan.
TAGI’s Executive Director, Mr. Mustafa Nasereddin welcomed the decision saying “This reflects KAFD’s confidence in TAGI’s services, which is a source of our pride, and is in line with Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization’s mission in encouraging youth achievement, innovation and Arab capacity building.”
From his part, KAFD’s Director General, Mr. Tariq Awad, stressed that auditing the award has become a necessity to ensure sound handling of the award to youth innovators and achievers, the ultimate goal being “the promotion of a positive change by awarding leading youth in the Arab world.”
