Abu-Ghazaleh Commends ASCA / Irbid Branch’s Role and Results

The participants underlined ASCA’s role and the continuous support of ASCA Chairman HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh in serving the community regionally and globally
IRBID ---March 19, 2012 ---The Arab Society of Certified Accountants (ASCA) has recently held a meeting at its branch at Queen Rania Center for Jordanian Studies and Community Service at the Yarmouk University in the presence of high ranking officials.
The meeting was attended by acting Irbid Governor Mr. Waleed Al Rashdan, Deputy Ajloun Governor, Police Department Manager, Prosecutor General, a number of the Lower House members, HE Senator Sami Al-Khasawneh head of the General Union of Voluntary Societies in Jordan, HE Dr. Mufleh Al Jarrah, Director of Jordan Islamic Bank in addition to the Malaysian Ambassador to Jordan H.E. Dato' Abdul Malek Bin Abdul Aziz.
The attendees were briefed by ASCA Executive Director Mr. Fahm Al Mousa on the Society’s establishment, activities, services and training courses held at ASCA branch.
The Malaysian Ambassador stressed the need of the Malaysian students at the University of Yarmouk for professional training. Al Mousa expressed ASCA’s readiness to provide all the required training adding that the Society is in the process of signing a long-term agreement with the Malaysian Embassy aimed at training Malaysian students in the Kingdom.
From his part, HE Senator Al-Khasawneh highlighted the necessity for joint cooperation between the General Union of Voluntary Societies and ASCA noting the need of the accountants at the Union’s 200 member societies for specialized professional training.
Meanwhile, HE Mr. Waleed Al Rashdan and the participants underlined ASCA’s role and the continuous support of ASCA Chairman HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh in serving the community regionally and globally and also his ongoing assistance in developing the accounting profession at the northern part of the Kingdom, an area which lacks the active presence of non-profit organizations such as ASCA in the field of accounting and auditing.
Al Mousa concluded that holding such meetings and seminars aims at enhancing ties between the Society from one side and the public and private sectors from the other.
Late last year, ASCA opened its new branch at Queen Rania Center for Jordanian Studies and Community Service at Yarmouk University in a special ceremony attended by HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, ASCA chairman, Prof. Abdullah Al Musa, Yarmouk University president and Mr. Khaled Abu Zaid, Irbid City governor in addition to a host of educators, businessmen and officials.
The new branch consists of two fully equipped halls and one lab that carry the name Talal Abu-Ghazaleh IT Lab equipped with TAGITOPS; the first branded Arabic Netbook provided by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) in an effort to contribute to computer literacy in the Arab region.
