AMMAN------March 18, 2012------- As part of the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Center for Refurbished Computers (TAGCRC) initiative launched by HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman and CEO of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization, around 1500 computers have been distributed to charitable societies, camps and schools including Relief International agency, Gaza Camp in Jerash, Jordan Hashemite Fund,  the Conservation of the Holly Quran Society, Marka Project for Social Development, Ma'an Governorate, Saidet Al Jabal Orphanage, SMEs center and Jordan Educational Initiative in addition to others.

Mr. Ala' Za'rour, project manager stated that they are working on refurbishing 1000 computers; 500 will be shipped to the West Bank and another 500 to Gaza Strip.

Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) has embarked on a new project for building refurbishment capacity in the Arab region. Through this project, TAG-Org would act as a focal point to the Arab region for creating refurbishment capabilities and providing “PC donations” and refurbished secondary PCs to underprivileged populations.

In 2010 and in cooperation with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), the first center was established in Gaza Camp in Jerash to provide refugees under UNRWA and the surrounding villages in north of Jordan with computers, develop skills of students and fresh graduates in order to serve their communities.

This project attracted the attention of the Jordanian government who requested all ministries to donate their old and unused computers to Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Center for Refurbished Computers.

Due to this success another center is being established in Amman inside the premises of TAGOCorp with aims to cover the Arab region in addition to another center to serve the southern part of the Kingdom for the benefit of the middle and southern areas in the country.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh requested Arab governments to facilitate opening such centers and so far the Lebanese government positively responded.
