TAG-Knowledge Hosts Google Technology User Groups pre-Startup Weekend Bootcamp

AMMAN --- March 7, 2012 --- Entitled “From Zero to Hero”, Google and Startup Weekend joined their forces at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Society (TAG-Knowledge) to help developers and entrepreneurs launch new startups by rolling out pre-Startup Weekend Bootcamps.

Google Technology User Groups (GTUGs) through local experts utilize these bootcamps to focus on teaching people about Google technologies like Android, App Engine, and different Google APIs that can help them work faster and be more productive during their Startup Weekend project.

By partnering with GTUGs, Startup Weekend, a global network of passionate leaders and entrepreneurs on a mission to inspire, educate, and empower individuals, teams and communities, can leverage experienced and knowledgeable members of those communities to teach Startup Weekend attendees.

Mr. Tareq Hammad, TAG-Knowledge executive director said:"We are really happy to host such an event which brings together designers and developers to learn more and expand their horizon in this field. TAG-Knowledge will always be a supporter." 

Participants were given small projects and tasks to complete, expand and test their knowledge. Topics tackled included HTML5, Open Source your business, Introduction to Android for developers and User Experience UX Design, Interaction Design, Gamification, Game Design and Animation for designers in addition to others.

TAG-Knowledge is one of the initiatives by HE Dr. Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh to perform its corporate social responsibility towards the Jordanian and Arab communities, and to be a hub for promoting intellect and knowledge, developing Arab youth and human resources, and qualifying the largest number of local professionals by providing them with competitive skills through exposure to knowledge and developments in the international community under the direct supervision of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) experts.
