Abu-Ghazaleh Inaugurates Iqtisaduna

Investors and businessmen from around the world headed by HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh initiated the establishment of Iqtisaduna to develop Promising Societies Organization
Under the patronage of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman and CEO of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org), the first economic entity "Iqtisaduna (Our Economics)" was launched to serve Palestinians in Diaspora and in the refugee camps in Lebanon, Jordan and Syria, in addition to serving local communities hosting them.
Investors and businessmen from around the world headed by the guest of honor HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh initiated the establishment of Iqtisaduna organization to be based in Beirut to develop Promising Societies Organization, a not- for- profit entity that will seek to establish development projects in societies based on sustainable development programs.
HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh stressed on the need to focus on knowledge in the next phase which provides better solutions to train Palestinians saying:
“A Chinese proverb says ‘If you are planning for one year, grow rice. If you are planning for 20 years grow trees. If you are planning for centuries, grow men’. Therefore, our responsibility at TAG-Org is to build capacities of our communities to reach to global digital learning.”
"The richest people in the world are the pioneers in the know-how industry which shows how important knowledge is in making the future."
He believes that investment in learning should be a priority adding that “our national duty at TAG-Org is to support digital and knowledge learning which is crystallized today in the TAG-knowledge societies in Amman, Haifa School in Beirut, Al Shohadaa School in Saida, Souq Al Quds e-Market, the All for Palestine Society, capacity building and learning for recruitment in addition to knowledge creativity.”
At the conference, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh launched a generous initiative to provide training scholarships to Palestinians living in camps through Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization under the supervision of Iqtisaduna Organization.
During the meeting which was held in Beirut, the founding committee was selected to form the first board of directors for a three -year term.
Meanwhile, Mr. Wael Al-Abed AlJader, Chairman of Iqtisaduna Board of Directors highlighted the role of Iqtisaduna in selecting and administering the development projects saying:" Iqtisaduna will be responsible of supervising these projects in order to have an acceptable level of return on invested capital to ensure the continuity of these projects."
Meanwhile, Dr. Khaled Nazal, vice-chair of Iqtisaduna Board of Directors stressed on the efforts made by all concerned parties in making Iqtisaduna a reality underscoring the fact that the Organization will be "global in its work and development."
