12 Feb 2007AMMAN - Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) announced that it has been selected as one of the top ten leading firms in patent prosecution and contentious work in 65 jurisdictions in a recent survey conducted by Managing Intellectual Property (MIP).
According to MIP, which is now firmly established as the leading international magazine for IP owners, with more than 8,000 readers across the globe, about three-quarters of the readers are senior in-house counsel in multinational companies; this year's survey is bigger, more in-depth and more detailed than ever as it covers 65 jurisdictions, with new rankings for the Caribbean, Ecuador, Panama, Uruguay and Sri Lanka.
AGIP's Executive Director Charles Sha’ban said, "We are most proud to have been selected as one of MIP's 10 leading firms because it showcases our consistent commitment towards our clients and employees and our keenness to create the great work environment that makes us pioneers.
He added, "We believe that our persistence to serve our clients in accordance with the most advanced criteria and our eagerness to upgrade our services have all blossomed.”
Sha’ban stated that hiring the best and the brightest, creating a great work environment and offering superior employee development – are central to the long-term success of AGIP.
The results of MIP's survey are based on extensive research and interviews with practitioners worldwide in addition to clients all around the Globe.
Firms are ranked in tiers in each jurisdiction; in most jurisdictions, there are separate tables for prosecution and contentious work. Prosecution work includes filing of patents or trademarks and associated work, meanwhile, contentious work includes all other legal actions such as enforcement and licensing.
The top-ten list includes in addition to AGIP: Baker & McKenzie, Lovells, Rouse & Co International, Bird & Bird, Clarke Modet, Howrey, Linklaters and Marks & Clerk.
