This came during the inauguration of the TAGTech factory in the Lebanese University under the patronage of Lebanon’s Prime Minister, HE Mr. Najib Mikati, in the presence of Minister of Industry, Mr. George Bouchikian, Lebanese University President, Prof. Bassam Badran, and representative of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh in Lebanon for Culture and Media, Mr. Burhan Al Ashkar.

Dr. Halabi commended Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh’s efforts in carrying out this project, saying: “Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh, who was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University, consistently expresses his admiration and gratitude for Lebanon as well as his commitment to empowering the Arab youth” adding:

“On this occasion, our gratitude is beyond words to Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh, a man with a humanitarian mission. He tirelessly contributes to advancing Arab societies, guiding them towards modernity in accordance with global digital trends. A person who awarded our national University the ‘Medal of Technological Manufacturing’ at Pierre Gemayel University Complex in Al Fanar, based on his belief in the University’s capabilities, academic excellence, and commitment. In return, we confirm that the University will be worthy of the trust and its ability to reach global levels. "

He continued by saying that the agreement between the University and TAG.Global to establish a TAGTech factory was signed a year ago, and today, TAG.Global has fulfilled all prerequisites for launching this facility, aiming not only to bolster the University’s role, but also to enhance and promote the role of Lebanon and empower its youth and graduates.

Dr. Halabi further emphasized that this project will make the Lebanese University a productive institution, and give a beacon of hope to Lebanon amid challenging circumstances. It also symbolizes resilience and steadfastness against the Zionist attacks on our people in the South, which affected schools and educational institutions, and displaced students and people to distant villages.

He also stressed that the inauguration of this factory will provide a significant uplift to the University, underscoring the collective efforts of its faculties and President, Dr. Badran, who is working in coordination with the University Council to elevate the University's academic and research level. He highlighted that the Pierre Gemayel University Complex, which embraces the TAGTech technological devices production factory, will provide practical technical training opportunities for University students and others, under the motto “Made in Lebanon”.

In conclusion, Dr. Halabi stated that opening the TAGTech factory marks a milestone in the University’s ongoing initiative to restore its leadership in parallel with the efforts exerted to pursue global accreditation systems to maximize the chances of the University students and graduates in the labor market.
