Lebanon’s Minister of Industry: TAGTech factory’s products meet the required standards, and will easily compete in the markets

BEIRUT - Lebanon’s Minister of Industry, Mr. George Bouchikian, has expressed his pride in opening the first factory of its kind in Lebanon to manufacture technological devices at the Lebanese University, in cooperation and partnership with Talal Abu-Ghazaleh for Technology (TAGTech), a member firm of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), during the opening ceremony of the TAGTech factory at the University, which was held under the patronage of Lebanon’s Prime Minister, HE Mr. Najib Mikati, in the presence of Minister of Education and Higher Education, HE Dr. Abbas Halabi, Lebanese University President, Prof. Bassam Badran, and representative of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of TAG.Global, in Lebanon for Culture and Media, Mr. Burhan Al Ashkar.

Mr. Bouchikian added that the opening of the first factory for manufacturing technological devices at the Lebanese University signifies a courageous initiative and ambitious step that indicates a future vision that aims to foster genuine integration and effective partnership among the industrial production, academic education, students, and private sector. 

 Mr. Bouchikian further pointed out that the establishment of this factory came as a result of cooperation and solidarity between the Lebanese University and TAG.Global, since the two parties share the same determination, the same commitment, and unwavering dedication to principles that are essential pillars for development, prosperity, creativity, and innovation.

Minister Bouchikian emphasized that this unprecedented and remarkable achievement would positively and effectively boost the University’s ranking, while also enhancing the continuous accomplishments of TAG.Global.  

Mr. Bouchikian further explained  that the TAGTech factory will manufacture and produce technological devices for both local and international markets, stressing that such devices will be competitive in terms of high-quality standards and incorporation of cutting-edge technologies in their production.

In the end, Minister Bouchikian expressed hopes that this project would be expanded to include other universities across Lebanon.
