Memorandum of Understanding signed between Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization and the Expert Bankers Association on “CIMA“Certificate in Islamic Finance
18 Apr 2017 Amman - Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Professional Training Group (TAGI-TRAIN) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Expert Bankers Association, in the presence of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, and Association Board members for Cooperation in the field of services provided by the banking sector.The memo aims at promoting cooperation between the two sides in marketing training courses and qualifying examinations for obtaining the CIMA Diploma in Islamic Finance offered by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants - UK, and for providing training and consulting services in any area related to the banking sector.
The Memorandum was signed by Mr. Salah Abu Osbeh, Executive Director of Professional Partnerships at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization and Mr. Walid Khairi Al Saleh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Expert Bankers Association.
On this occasion Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh stated that Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Professional Training Group (TAGI-TRAIN) offers CIMA diploma and qualifications in Islamic finance, which represents the first international specialized qualification in the field of Islamic finance issued by a certified accounting professional agency, which is the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants- (UK).
He pointed out that TAGI-TRAIN Group is the only entity in the Arab region that offers CIMA Diploma in Islamic Finance in Arabic, designed to meet the growing demand for internationally recognized qualifications in the Islamic finance sector. He noted that the qualifications are formulated to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills required in this active and challenging market. The volume of global Islamic finance is about US$ 1.3 trillion and is constantly increasing.
Further, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh underlined the fact that TAGI-TRAIN Group continuously strives to facilitate beneficiaries’ access to services and programs offered through automation/computerization, and he indicated that the student can obtain CIMA diploma in Islamic finance upon successful completion of four approved courses’ exams which include: Islamic Commercial Law, Islamic Banking and “Takaful”, Products and Services, Islamic Capital Markets and Instruments, and Accounting for Islamic Financial Institutions.
A computerized exam system was devised to increase accuracy and credibility of the correction process and to speed up the announcement of results. The system also permits organizing exams in different countries and in accredited centers.
On his part, Association Chairman Waleed Khairi, said the Expert Bankers Association was founded in 2015, as a non-profit professional organization. Its membership include a group of banking experts in various fields of banking, and it aims at spreading banking culture and awareness as well as banking consulting services and banking arbitration. In addition, the Association seeks qualifying and preparing university graduates to work in the banking sector, it conducts studies and research and it organizes seminars, conferences and forums in banking-related areas at local and Arab levels.
Mr. Khairy added that signing the Memorandum of Understanding with Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Professional Training Group (TAGI-TRAIN) will further promote and support the realization of the Association’s objectives and will contribute effectively to developing the banking sector in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
