Abu-Ghazaleh Keynote Speaker at Prince Sultan University (Riyad)

13 Apr 2017 RIYADH – HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman of both; Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) and the Arab States for Research and Education Network (ASREN), has underlined, in his keynote speech at Prince Sultan University 4th Law Research Forum in the KSA the significance of setting applicable plans for the achievement of  aspired goals and objectives.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh tackled three major topics: World Trade Organization (WTO), Intellectual Property, and the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS), noting that a law researcher should be knowledgeable of all those topics.
 
The Forum, organized by Prince Sultan University, as part of a series of specialized research fora, held by the Research and translation Center of the Higher Studies Deanship and Scientific Research in cooperation with other faculties at the University, aims at supporting university research and enhancing ties between researchers and interested in research donors. It also seeks the creation of opportunities enhancing communication among researchers to come up with joint research projects, and to also help research interact with its social environment.

Addressing the most important challenges encountered by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in achieving its 2030 Vision, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh underscored the importance of introducing this Vision and the objectives it includes. He stated  that we are moving towards a digital world where Information and Communications Technology in managing and steering the digital world in all its aspects plays significant roles.
 
Dr. Abu Ghazaleh also noted that the 21st Century is the  Century of "artificial intelligence", where things will think and act like humans, affirming that by 2050 man and machine will live like one family.

In his remarks, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh, commended the Finland experience that is causing changes in education at  global level, calling on his audience to study this experience in order to realize the difference between digital and non-digital societies, and to benefit from the Finnish expertise for guaranteeing a better future for the coming generations.

He also praised the spectacular achievements  of the KSA, noting in particular the success of the Ministry of Interior  in becoming a role model in the region as one of the smartest ministries in the world, by transforming all its internal procedures into smart ICT practices.

He also called for establishing a knowledge forum in the KSA similar to Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum in Jordan which seeks to study the transformation of Jordan into a knowledge-based society by 2030, by initiating  practical strategies and plans as well as by  encountering potential challenges.

 “The future is shaped through knowledge and through knowledge we create wealth,” Abu Ghazaleh affirmed, adding that the importance of future scientific research must be based on ICT so that future researchers become knowledge researches.

At the closing of the Forum, the organizers honored Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh for his regional and global efforts in the dissemination of knowledge and in connecting it to all aspects of life.

The Forum was held in the presence of HE Dr. Rima bint Saleh Al-Yahya, Vice Rector of the Women's Campus, HE Dr. Ayed Al-Bagumi, Vice Dean of Faculty of Law, and HE Dr. Amena Sheikhawi.
