JOrchestra Performs in Italy, the city of Sant’Angelo a Cupolo (Benevento) Awards Abu-Ghazaleh Honorary Citizenship

BENEVENTO, Italy –   Jordanian National Orchestra  Association (JOrchestra)  in partnership with Italian trumpet player and composer  Luca Aquino performed  the first concert of “PETRA” featuring the music composition by Aquino for the project “A journey to discover Petra’s Melody”  in Benevento, a province in the Campania region of Italy. The event was promoted within the international campaign UNITE4HERITAGE powered by UNESCO and was held under the patronage of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh.

During the PETRA concert, Luca Aquino and JOrchestra ensemble presented the compositions written for the music-recording project in Little Petra, the unprecedented initiative finalized in December 2015 with the support of UNESCO Amman Office, Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) and Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority. The aim of the initiative was to encourage the wider music practice and appreciation across different cultures and to promote the site of Petra.

On this occasion, Mayor of Sant’Angelo a Cupolo organized a special ceremony to honor Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh at the municipality building in the presence of Italian Government representative.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh, highly appreciated this gesture and thanked the city of Sant’Angelo a Cupolo for the honorary citizenship bestowed on him by the mayor and citizens of this great city stating that it is a true honor and privilege.

The concert was welcomed by the enthusiastic participation of the audience and local authorities, and was acclaimed by the Jordanian delegation present at the event: Dr. Mohammad Nawafleh, Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority’s Chief Commissioner, Dr. Emad Ejazeen Deputy Chief Commissioner PDTRA
Aquino on trumpet, Natalino Marchetti (accordion) and Sergio Casale (flute) performed together with JOrchestra’s musicians Anna Maria Matuszczak (violin), Bassem al Jaber (double bass), Baciu Laurentiu (oboe) and the percussionist Brad Broomsfield , in the mesmerizing atmosphere of the Church of SS. Rosario of the town of Pastene in Benevento.
