TAG-Org Undertakes the Task of Activating 60 HCY’s Youth Centers in the Kingdom

AMMAN – January 3, 2015 - A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org)/ Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Society (TAG-KS) represented by HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh and the Higher Council for Youth (HCY) represented by HE Dr. Sami Majali.

The MoU aims at qualifying 60 youth centers scattered throughout the governorates of the Kingdom, enhancing HCY personnel's capability, and formulating a training work plan based on needs particularly in the fields of IT and English language in order to enable youth to enter the labor market.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh expressed pride to cooperate with HCY, and willingness to provide all possible efforts needed to develop the Council’s services.

He added "TAG-Org has always sought to support youth institutions because we believe in youth sector's role in forming the future. This also comes in line with the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II Bin Al Hussein in supporting youth."

For his part, Dr. Majali expressed pleasure to cooperate with such an Organization with excellent reputation and that offers distinguished services in many fields all over the world. 

He added that through this cooperation, they are implementing His Majesty's directives to enhance youth's capacities, and to achieve sustainable development through partnerships with the private sector.

According to the MoU, a team will be formed to work towards achieving the common goals, and the HCY's sixty centers will be activated. In the first phase, 12 centers will be chosen to be prepared be functional and to hold training courses.

Additionally, HCY's personnel will be qualified, in the fields of IT, English language, and all other skills needed for their work. Moreover, development programs and activities will be improved, an electronic program will be formulated in order to connect branches to the management headquarters. 

Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Society:

Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Society (TAG-KS) is one of the initiatives taken by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org), the global organization for professional services and education, which operates through 80 offices and 150 representative offices worldwide. Targeting the Arab youth and striving to foster human resource development, TAG-Knowledge aims at granting the latest tools in the information and communication technology field, and qualifying local professionals and providing them with the experience of TAG-Org’s experts to enable them overcoming labor market challenges.

Higher Council for Youth:

HCY was established in 2001 after the issuance of the provisional law No. 65 under which youth and sport were separated; accordingly, Ministry of Youth was replaced with the Higher Council for Youth. The law set the objectives of caring for Jordanian youth as follows: making young people committed to their principles, belonged to their country, nation, and Arabism, loyal to their county and king, and respectful to the constitution and law, organizing youth's capacities, consolidating the notion of group work and volunteering to effectively contribute in the national development culturally, socially, and economically, promoting sports among youth for the purposes of improving fitness, achieving self- discipline and balanced-growth, and creating opportunities to develop youth's skills and capacities, encouraging the respect of others' opinions with the balance of freedom and responsibility.
