Central Bank of Afghanistan Selects Abu-Ghazaleh & Co International as Certified Auditors to Main Banks in Afghanistan
17 Oct 2011 According to the agreement, TAGI will provide financial and auditing services as well as IT auditing for five commercial banksKABUL ---------- October 17, 2011--------Talal Abu-Ghazaleh & Co International – Jordan (TAGI) signed an agreement with the Central Bank of Afghanistan to audit five commercial banks in Afghanistan funded by the World Bank.
According to the agreement, TAGI will provide financial and auditing services as well as IT auditing for these banks for a six-month period.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Mustafa Nasereddin, TAGI Executive Director of International Affairs, and Mr. Mohiballah Safi, Central Bank’s Governor in the presence of Mr. Zalmei Sherzad, Director of Financial Sector Strengthening Project (FSSP) in the Central Bank of Afghanistan and Mr. Mohammad Qaseem Rahimi, General Director of Financial Control Department / Central Bank of Afghanistan, and Ms. Guillemette Jaffrin, Private Sector Development Expert in the World Bank, and Mr. Yazeed Al Ma’ani, Projects Management Manager, and Mr. Babu Nambarath, Operations Manager – TAGI Afghanistan Office.
Mr. Mohiballah Safi highlighted the high professional level of TAGI in the fields of auditing, legal consultancies, taxes and Intellectual Property. He also expressed the Bank’s intension to appoint TAGI as permanent certified auditors in Afghanistan.
Mr. Nasereddin said “We are honored by the partnership with the Central Bank of Afghanistan, which indicates the Bank’s confidence in TAGI and its consultants.”
He also added that this project is in line with the intentions of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) to improve the professions of auditing, accounting and consultancies in Afghanistan in accordance with the international standards through the services provided by TAG-Org office in Kabul.
