Arab accountancy society launched
08 Nov 1983BAHRAIN: An Arab Society of certified accountants has been launched under the patronage of the Association of Certified Accountants, London.
The first president of the society will be Talal Abu-Ghazaleh of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh International, the largest Arab accountancy firm in the Middle East which has a branch in Bahrain.
The society was formed after a meeting of 22 prominent accountants drawn from leading local and international firms operating in Arab countries.

Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh said after the meeting: “It is our aim to develop a professional body which will qualify Arab accountants to serve the economies of the Arab world.”
Other members who were elected to the council were: Abdul Majeed Ahmed Muhandis, Ata Hamad El-Bayouk, Akram Al-Kadi, Antoine Mattar, Dr. Salih Jadallah, Salah El Ayouty, Abdul-latif Hassan, Mourad Guellaty and Wael Abou Chakra.
