ASCA Calls on Accountants to Join its Ranks
26 Feb 1984The Arab Society of Certified Accountants (ASCA) called on all those qualified to join its ranks throughout the Arab region to forward application memberships to the society.
It is known that the society is an Arab regional professional organization that was established in London, Britain under the patronage of the Association of Certified Accountants.
The aims that the society was created for include working towards the development of accounting and financial administration sciences, and other related topics that are applicable in any professional services provided for by accountants. This includes services provided in the vocation of accounts monitoring or the industrial, commercial or public sectors worldwide, without affecting that generality in all the member-states of the Arab League.
The society also seeks to implement the highest professional levels related to efficiency, practice or behavior among its members. It also aims to provide protection, professional independence and monitoring professional practices of members.
It strives towards carrying out all that leads to the progress and protection of the accounting g profession whether related to vocational practice or accounting services offered in the fields of industry and commerce and public service.
The society also aims to be affiliated with the Association of Certified Accountants and for its members to have common membership with it.
Membership:
ASCA membership is open for persons in the three following categories:
- those who pass tests decided upon by ASCA and who possess required accounting expertise
- Arab members in British societies that follow below. As for non-Arabs who wish to become members, they must have two years experience in an Arab country during the five years preceding their membership application date
Institute of Chartered Accountants in England/Wales
Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland
Institute of Chartered Accountants in London
Any other society that is approved by the ASCA board (of directors) and the Association of Certified Accountants.
- Any Arab certified accountant who applies for membership no later than July 12, 1984, per the following conditions:
a) has a university degree in accounting, trade or business administration from a university approved by ASCA
b) is affiliated at the time of membership application with one of the Arab professional offices either as a partner or an employee, for a period of at least ten years and such that the office has at least ten employees and is part of a professional organization that has at least 50 employees at the time the membership application is submitted.
For persons who fulfill the conditions of the third category above, they are required to send their application in by mail, with the post stamp having a date of no later than July 12, 1984, to preserve their right to be accepted as members.
