Abu-Ghazaleh Consulting Co. (AGCON) has recently qualified Al-Yamama Company to meet this achievement. According to this, Al-Yamama will be the second Jordanian company which received this certificate after the Jordanian Cement Company, and the first company to be qualified by an advisory panel.

After that Al-Yamama Company obtained this recommendation, Mr. Samer Zreiqat, Manager of Business Development, said: “being granted for ISO 14001 certificate is consistent with our policy that aims to be cautious about local and international environmental laws and legislations, where a part of the investment was allocated to commit and adhere to this policy and goals.”

The engineer, Muhannad Al-Kayid, Manager of Quality and Environment Consulting at AGCON and the Project Manager, has explained the importance of adhering to the environmental laws and legislations, which are implicitly applied when any company obtains the ISO 14001 certificate, especially after the growth of the global attention to this subject.

Mr. Al-Kayid added that qualifying Al-Yamama Company to get this international certificate had taken a lot of tireless and hard work, and the commitment, cooperation and willingness of the various departments in the Company  were the most important and main reasons to obtain the international compliance certificate.

The engineer, Mohamed Al-Adawi, Leader of the Auditing Team at the global company (SGS) which grants the certificate, confirmed that the system that has been reviewed, approved, and according to it the certificate was granted, is an effective one and conforms to the international standards (ISO 14001). He also said that there is a clear commitment by the management and the company’s cadres to apply this system.

Mr. Al-Adawi called on all companies and factories that have an impact on the environment to obtain the ISO 14001 certificate, because it helps in the acceptance of its production in world markets, and confirms its commitment to the terms and rules of the Jordanian and international environmental laws.
