14 Jul 2011 HE Abu-Ghazaleh called for this initiative to be more than concluding current trade swaps and agreements and should be transformed into a cooperation mechanism that continues after the conclusion of the meetingAMMAN-------- July 14, 2011---------- Under the Patronage of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, “Business-to-Business” meeting was held at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Business Forum on July 7, 2011. The meeting witnessed the attendance of a large number of Jordanian and Palestinian businessmen and investors, including Mr. Ahmad Hashim Al Zagheer- president of the Federation of the Palestinian Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Dr. Abu Obaida Hafez- chairman of the Palestinian Business Forum, Dr. Talal Al Bou- chairman of the Palestinian Jordanian Business Forum and Mr. Fahed Othman Taweeleh- chair of Al Rakhaa Businessmen Association.
HE Abu-Ghazaleh called for this initiative to be more than concluding current trade swaps and agreements stressing that it should be transformed into a cooperation mechanism that continues after the conclusion of the meeting.
He addressed the audience saying that we should focus on three aspects:
First: The website of the Palestinian Jordanian Business Forum must be developed to serve its noble objectives. The Web Development Department at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization will perform this task in terms of “design and technology”.
Second: Commercial dealing must be conducted via the website with a view to expanding the scope of Business-to-Business forum online, so as to give an opportunity to businessmen wishing to display their products, services or ideas to develop work. Consequently, this project shall be a mutual market for the Forum members, showcasing the creativities of this people to the world being an important power in building economies, as it is crucial to present these capabilities which served economy and civilization.
Third: Strengthening relationship among Palestinian people in Palestine and abroad, so that the website becomes a special portal and an opportunity for the businessmen in Palestine to deal with those abroad, creating thereby a mutual market for our people living in Palestine and abroad. HE Abu-Ghazaleh stressed that this should be one of the Forum’s priorities and main objectives so we can say that we connected Palestinian businessmen in Palestine and abroad to provide actual services to our people in a practical way.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh indicated that the Palestinian people living in Palestine are superior in technology terms and the digital knowledge rate is higher in Palestine compared to other places despite the Israeli occupation.
Web Development Manager, Mr. Ramez Quneibi, gave an illustrative presentation on developing the website of the Palestinian Mutual Market, which will serve as an e-commerce website between Palestinian businessmen and their peers abroad. This website will enable businessmen to exchange complete business transactions online. E-commerce helps achieve effective communication with partners and clients as well as more effective marketing, which decreases corporate expenses and research costs on buyers and therefore increases profit.
Dr. Ahmad Al Zagheer, Dr. Abu Obaida Hafez, Dr. Talal Al Bou and Mr. Fahed Othman Taweeleh delivered speeches in the meeting, where they emphasized its significance and tackled projects, including the project of the Palestinian Mutual Market website as well as projects of members and business forums by sector.
It is worth mentioning that the Palestinian Jordanian Business Forum was announced in Amman at the end of last May under the Patronage of Dr. Talal Abu Ghazaleh. The Forum seeks to promote communication and cooperation between businessmen in Jordan and protect their interests, develop their opportunities and joint benefits, promote their performance and raise their legal, economic and administrative awareness. The Forum also aims at establishing strategic projects in support of the Jordanian and Palestinian economies to benefit the economic security and prosperity of the Jordanian and Palestinian peoples having long brotherly ties.
