19 Jul 2005
AMMAN – A memorandum of understanding was signed yesterday to create a strategic partnership between the German-Jordanian University (GJU) and the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAGorg). The MoU is to establish the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh College for Vocational Qualifications, among the university’s main colleges.

The college will grant Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Administrative Sciences, Financial Sciences, and Information and Communication Technology. A higher consultative council will be chosen, that will include economic and vocational leaders, in addition to an executive committee that is comprised of members from both parties to the agreement.
Under the MoU, the university will be entitled to opening branches of the Abu-Ghazaleh college in other Arab countries, and the college will have the right to convene training courses and other courses in coordination with the university’s administration and in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

This partnership is consistent with the GJU’s strategy of bridging the gap between the areas of higher education, scientific research and practical experience on the one hand, and the requirements of the national economy and the necessity of keeping up with developments in the areas of administrative and financial sciences, intellectual property protection and information and communication technology on the other.
