TAGSB Celebrates Its Third Master's Degree Graduates

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh: We have dedicated all our resources to the establishment of a business school capable of producing a generation of competent leaders able to shape and create the future.

AMMAN------- July 5, 2011 ----- Under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Basma Bint Talal, the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Graduate School of Business/ the German Jordanian University, celebrated the graduation of the third Masters class who successfully completed the requirements for obtaining the Master’s degree in Business Administration and Intellectual Property.

The ceremony was attended by HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Chairman of the Higher Advisory Council of the School, Professor Dr. Labib Khadra, President of the German Jordanian University, Professor Dr. Saleh Hashem, Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, and several members of the Board of Trustees of the University and the Advisory Council of the School, as well as by a number of ambassadors and representatives of Arab organizations and foreign missions. The ceremony was also attended by a Palestinian delegation headed by HE Dr. Mazen Sinokrot.

HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh welcomed and extended his gratitude to Her Royal Highness PrinceTAGSB Celebrates Its Third Master's Degree Graduatesss Basma for patronizing and attending the ceremony.

He commended the efforts and hard work done by the graduates which resulted in their success saying: “I have devoted all the resources of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization to the establishment of a Graduate School of Business capable of producing a generation of leaders able to shape and create the future.”

“We have developed a curriculum for the Business Administration program that meets the highest international standards, and that earned us recognition by the most prestigious European institutions specialized in accreditation and certification of business administration programs. Moreover, we are committed to attracting the best teaching cadre of most reputable and high-qualified professors, lecturers and staff members, and we apply as well the top standards to attract outstanding students who would be able to benefit from the richness of our creative programs. My goal or vision is not limited to making Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Graduate School of Business a pioneering School in the Arab world only, but also for it to become one of the most leading and famous educational institutions in this field at the global level. We are very close to achieving this goal,” said Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh.

Addressing the graduates, he said: “We are proud and delighted to see that we have succeeded in preparing, educating and qualifying you properly in a way that would enable and empower you to face any challenges and contribute significantly to the economy of our country. I am confident that you are able to succeed - thanks to God - using the skills, values, integrity and high ethical standards that you now possess.”

He pointed out that some universities are instilling in the hearts of their graduates a sense of vanity and arrogance, being better than others. But,” he said “you are not of this sort. You are not arrogant, but yoTAGSB Celebrates Its Third Master's Degree Graduatesu are proud and you should hold your heads up high because you deserve it since you graduated from a School whose gifted graduates will become leaders. You are now able and qualified to lead.”


Prof. Dr. Labib Khadra, President of the German Jordanian University said in his address: “Because the German Jordanian University was established to provide a new model for higher education in Jordan, and because it was created to bridge the gap between the output of the Jordanian universities and the requirements of the labor market, and because it is part of the reputable and prominent Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Group for professional services, with proficient experience in international accounting, intellectual property, business administration, because of all these reasons, the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Graduate School of Business succeeded and became distinctive in a short period of less than five years.”

“This School”, continued Dr. Khadra, “which came into existence as a result of a unique type of partnership between the public and the private sectors, has set an example, a model to follow in the higher education sector in Jordan. It has also enriched the higher education sector not only in Jordan but also across the region as a whole, especially the Master's program in Business Administration. We take pride in realizing such an achievement in a short period of time, and we believe that the biggest challenge for all of us is to preserve and develop this achievement, as this is the responsibility of all partners who worked together and knew all the secrets along the path to success.”

Following the addresses, Mohammed Mazin Ayyas, a graduating student, said a few words on behalf of TAGSB Celebrates Its Third Master's Degree Graduatesall the graduates: “We are lucky we had the opportunity to receive education at this School in a country which enjoys political and economic stability, and it is our responsibility to offer part of what we have learnt to our community, to invest our good luck in the service of our society. And as Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh told us, “You will not be able to enjoy a goodnight sleep unless you’ve worked hard during the day.”

The total number of graduates who have completed the requirements for obtaining a Master's degree in Business Administration or Intellectual Property in this third graduating group is 75.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh offered financial awards, TAGSB Shields, and a "TAGITOP" to each of the following top three distinguished students:
- Mohammed Mazin Ayyas.
- Saleh Youssef Fleifel.

In honor and recognition of her patronage of this event, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh awarded Her Royal Highness Princess Basma the School Shield.

The School Shield was also awarded to Dr. Saleh Hashem, Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, for his support and his efforts towards the advancement of the School, and to Dr. Suleiman Atiyyeh for his outstanding contribution and dedication during his tenure.

From his part, Dr. Hashem awarded Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh the Shield of the Secretariat of the Union of Arab Universities in recognition of his continued support of the Union, for his dedication and contribution to the development of the higher education sector and, particularly, for promoting the achievement of quality in higher education.
