Oman Hosts “Importance of IPR & IPR’s Licensing and Their Value to National Economy” Seminar

MUSCAT - Under the patronage of the Omani Under Secretary for Commerce & Industry Ahmed Bin Hasan Al Dheeb, the "Importance of IPR & IPR’s Licensing and Their Value to National Economy" seminar will be inaugurated on Sunday at Knowledge Oasis Muscat, building 1, Muscat Hall.
Organized by Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) in partnership with Knowledge Oasis Muscat, the seminar’s opening remarks will be presented by Al Dheeb in addition to AGIP Chairman Talal Abu-Ghazaleh.
The seminar will focus on realizing the importance of intellectual property protection system and its effective role on economic development. The program has been tailored to provide attendees with the basic information needed to establish a base of knowledge and expertise in the protection and exploitation of intellectual property rights (IPRs).
Speakers will tackle licensing and technology transfer, financial evaluation of intellectual properties as a key factor of determining the viability of their commercialization as well as setting royalty rates, in addition to a specialized paper on the anatomy and structure of a license agreement in its legal, technical and financial aspects.
