Talal Abu-Ghazaleh College for Business Administration opening

The ceremony was attended by H.E. Mr. Amr Mousa, Secretary General of the Arab League, H.E. Dr. Sabri Saidam, the Palestinian Minister of Communications and IT, and a number of ambassadors, public and private sectors university Presidents, Deans and Faculty Members, governmental officials and dignitaries.
Dr. Khalid Touqan emphasized, in the opening speech, that this college is a true partnership between both the private and public sectors, thus translates the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II to modernize the process of learning and teaching, and to establish an education based on quality at different levels in Jordan. 
On his part, Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh said, in his opening address, that the focus of the German-Jordan University is on practical applications of academic sciences, and on academic-industrial cooperation which is regarded as an important directive in the process of developing business sectors in our region, to achieve a prosperous future.
He add that it is not only a Jordanian college for business administration, but also an Arab and an international college located in Jordan that provides all types of training and habilitation at all levels. He noted that we shall work toward establishing other branches of this college in the different Arab states in the near future, whereby the first branch shall be in Palestine. Further, a group of programs and courses of a joint efforts shall be implemented leading to vocational and academic qualifications by students.
At the level of university education, Abu-Ghazaleh said that the college shall grant bachelor degrees in financial sciences, administrative sciences, IT and intellectual property. He added that the college shall be a hub of excellence where the leaders of today meet the leaders of tomorrow, and where the dividends of academic institutions meet with the dividends of businesses and the government. 
Dr. Labeeb Al-Khadra, President of the the German-Jordan University, clarified that Talal Abu-Ghazaleh College for Business Administration is similar to other colleges at the university whereas it shall focus on the quality of graduates rather than numbers. It shall also work toward graduating qualified, skilled and well trained students ready to enter the labor market without the need to train them, in order to actively contribute to comprehensive economic and social development.
He added that the university established the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh College for Business Administration with a purpose of cooperating with various international and local institutes, with a vision of providing the necessary training to graduates of businesses, to cope with the developments and practical applications and international scientific research curricular. 
Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh presented the college shield to H.E. Dr. Tuqan in appreciation to his efforts in forging the first strategic partnership between the private and public sectors, as well as to H.E. Ambassador Klaus Porkhardt for his efforts in bolstering cooperation between Germany and Jordan.

Deputizing for His Excellency Dr. Marouf Al-Bakhiet, Prime Minister of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Dr. Khaled Touqan, the Minister of Education, Higher Education & Scientific Research patronized the opening ceremony of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh College for Business Administration on Monday, February 27th 2006 as one of the primary colleges of the Jordanian German University.
