MUSCAT - Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) and Abu-Ghazaleh Legal (ABLE) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), with Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM) to enhance cooperation and strengthen ties in all fields of practice among the three professional parties.
According to the MoU, both AGIP and ABLE will organize free-of- charge workshops on quarterly basis for KOM staff and members in the field of Intellectual Property (IP) laws. These workshops aim at developing the trainees’ understanding of IP as well as promoting awareness and knowledge among members of The Knowledge Mine (TKM) - one of KOM’s branches.
On the other hand, representatives from AGIP and ABLE will participate in KOM vital activities such as the annual TKM Big Business Idea Competition.
“The MoU signed with Knowledge Oasis Muscat is about providing advice on IP Rights and related activities to innovators, inventors and upcoming individual enterprises that are incubated by The Knowledge Mine. Such partnership would make AGIP and ABLE reap regional marketing benefits, as in return of providing four intellectual property rights workshops each quarter – over a period twelve months,” AGIP National Marketing Manager at Oman office Zaydoon Abu Qarmool told ag-IP-news Agency.
“Offering such workshops by AGIP and ABLE will enable us to generate high quality leads and make important contacts that will immediately benefit our reputation. It would also offer us an unrivalled investment opportunity that will enable both companies to reach their target audience, featuring many of the country’s most influential corporate and government personnel,” he added.
Abu Qarmool pointed out that this partnership shall provide AGIP and ABLE with the opportunity to come within reach of KOM-based companies since KOM brings together a diversity of enterprises from industry niches with over 30 tenant firms located in the IT Park.
“Due to the fact that the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) operates six Industrial Estates in the Sultanate in addition to the IT Park (KOM), AGIP and ABLE will have an excellent exposure to the Omani manufacturing Market, as both companies will have the opportunity to come within reach of companies located at these Industrial Estates and move towards the same and keep them aware of the importance of IP Rights protection and provide them with our services,” added Abu Qarmool.
According to the Memorandum, KOM shall publicize the aforementioned workshops by means of a quarterly press release in Arabic and English that will be released at least seven days prior to each workshop. While, AGIP and ABLE representatives will maintain membership in the TKM Advisory Board and will attend all TKM Advisory Board meetings.
