ASIP to Organize Course in IP for Palestinian Attorneys

AMMAN – The Arab Society for Intellectual Property (ASIP) will organize a specialized Intellectual Property (IP) course August 27-30, 2006 for the Palestinian attorneys and employees of the Ministry of National Economy at the Palestinian National Authority (PNA).
 
According to a press release, the training course, which will take place at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh College of Business/ German-Jordanian University (TAGCB/GJU), will highlight several key issues: trademarks, the similarities among marks, examination procedures, patents, industrial designs and models, registration procedures, appealing the registrar’s decision and the conditions available in patents and models.
 
“Participants will be exposed to practical situations, and field tours will be organized,” ASIP Manager Mu’tasem Dmour said.
 
“Experts and attorneys in the IP field will give a comprehensive look on IP and other related subjects,” he added.
 
Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) has contributed to financing this training course due to its belief in the important role IP field plays in the Palestinian community.
 
ASIP is a specialized Arab professional body that aims at enhancing and developing the protection of intellectual property system through various means of awareness and education, which explain the nature of work in this field and its effective role in the economy.
