A Meeting was Held at the Office of H.E. Sheikha Lubna Bint Khalid Al Qasimi to Discuss the Cooperation between Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAGorg) and the Ministry of Economy at the United Arab Emirates
18 Sep 2006Minister of Economy and Planning in the United Arab Emirates H.E. Sheikha Lubna Bint Khalid Al Qasimi received at her office on September 16, 2006, Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Chairman and CEO of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAGorg) and the delegation group with the presence of the Secretary of Economy Sector Mr. Abdulla Bin Ahamed Al-Saleh.
During the meeting they tackled various issues such as, determining the framework of the cooperation between the Minstery of Economy and Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization Group (TAGorg) in terms of consulting, organizing, training, auditing financial statements, building intellectual property capabilities and developing legislations.
The Chairman and the delegation group also had a meeting at the office of the Secretary Mr. Al-Saleh, discussing the chances of cooperation between the Ministry of Economy and TAGorg. It was agreed to prepare Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) concerning the organization of training workshops jointly with the Accountants and Auditors Institute in the United Arab Emirates. The objective of the training workshops is to enhance the professionals’ competence in the United Arab Emirates. Further, it was also agreed to focus on the international accounting and auditing standards training. It is worth noting that the Arabic translation of the international accounting and auditing standards is exclusively provided to the Arab Society for Certified Accountants (ASCA) by the International Boards.
Both parties discussed organizing a forum for corporate governance, under the patronage of H.E. Sheikha Lubna Bint Khalid Al Qasimi with the participation of the Institute of Corporate Governance, in order to develop the concept of corporate governance and its procedures in different businesses.
