Meeting of ICC Commission on E Business, IT and Telecoms

The ICC Commission on E Business, IT & Telecoms (EBITT), held its meeting for the first time in India on September 19, 2006 in New Delhi.
The EBITT Commission of ICC provides a global business interface with the policy makers across the globe and intergovernmental organizations including the WTO, World Bank, United Nations Conference on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), G 8, International Telecommunications Union (ITU), WSIS, and the EU. Prominent among those who attended the meetings were Chair, ICC EBITT Commission, Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh (President, TAGI, Jordan); Vice Chair Mr. Kim Ambler (Director, Boeing Company, US), Mr. Stefan Bernhard (Bird & Bird, Sweden) and Mr. Gordon Moir, Vice President, Legal & Regulatory, BT Global Service, United Kingdom, Mr. Sushil Jiwarajka, Managing Director, Salora International Ltd., India, and Mr. David Appasamy, Chief Communication Officer, Sify Ltd. Besides, around 15 senior business leaders from across the globe also attended this meeting as well as some senior business leaders from India.
The EBITT Commission meeting deliberated upon some of these impending issues affecting businesses worldwide like regulating the delivery of audiovisual content over the Internet, convergence, review of the EU regulatory framework for electronic communications and services, international data transfers, and the like.
