Intellectual Property Charges Modified in Several Countries
01 Jan 2007AMMAN - Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) would like to advise its clients that official charges for various Intellectual Property services have been modified in Algeria, Turkey and Morocco with effect from January 1, 2007.
In Algeria, charges for trademarks and industrial designs have been raised by 100%, as per Law No. 06-24 issued on December 26, 2006 pertaining to the Financial Law of 2007, which was published in the Official Gazette No. 85 on December 27, 2006.
In Turkey, charges for trademark-related services went up by 10-70% as per Law No. BIK/TPE: 2007/1 issued by the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Meanwhile, according to Decision No. 3/2006 dated November 16, 2006, issued by the Moroccan Minister of Industry, Trade and Economy Upgrading, Salaheddine Mezouar, charges for trademark filing have gone up by 100%, patent filing by 140%, and plant varieties and copyrights by 20%.
