Union of Athletics Agrees to Participate in the Asia Regional Championship in Jordan
16 Feb 2007The Board of Directors of the Bahraini Union of Athletics has agreed to participate in the Asian Regional Championship that will be held on March 10,2007 in Jordan. The decision was made at the board’s 42nd meeting, which was presided over by the Union’s Chairman Sheikh Talal Bin Mohammed Al Khalifah.
The board of directors also decided on the national team to be formed. This process was headed by Vice-Chair Mr. Mohammed Jalal.
Board member and head of the Women’s Committee Lubna Alnayem presented a report on the preparations conducted for Bahrain to host the first championship for female athletics of the GCC countries, which will be held from March 1-3, 2007.
Also, the union’s treasurer presented the financial status to the board and special arrangements made related to the fiscal year ending in 2006. He recommended that the board forward the financial report to the General Institution for Youth and Sport, after getting it signed by the responsible auditing companies; Talal Abu-Ghazaleh International and the Fakhro Institution of Auditing.
The Chairman praised the great and dedicated efforts of the board members and all employees in the general committees, and administrative and technical bodies.
