Utilization of Mleih and Zeeban Stations to Grant the Cambridge Certificate for IT Skills
28 Feb 2007MADABA – The Knowledge Stations of Mleih and Zeeban are to be utilized to grant the Cambridge IT Skills Diploma, which is equivalent to the International Computer Driving Licence, in order to advance employees of both the public and private sectors. This comes as the result of an agreement between the National Information Technology Center, the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Center and the Academy for Advanced Technology.
This certificate is recognized by the Ministry of Education, private and public universities, for the purposes of promoting employees, teachers and administrative cadres. It is issued by Cambridge University in conjunction with the Academy and Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Information Technology International (TAGITI).
The Mleih and Zeeban station supervisors, Eng. Mohammed Alfuqaha’a and Mr. Amer Aljamain respectively, said that token fees are collected from the trainees in comparison with other private centers. They pointed out that the adoption of these two stations for granting the diploma will help citizens in areas who have difficulty in the process of sitting for international examinations related to computers or IT and consequently obtaining these types of certificates quickly and easily. They added that currently courses are being convened for 14 persons to get this diploma, with 8 being at the Mleih station and the remainder at Zeeban.
The Jordanian knowledge stations aim to spread awareness on computer usage and bridge the digital gap between the communities of villages and cities in the Kingdom’s governorates, in addition to developing the workforce and allowing it to gain the modern economy skills needed to increase its competitive ability in obtaining jobs and raising its level of efficiency.
At the Mleih knowledge station, approximately 4800 persons, mostly female, were trained since the station’s establishment in 2001.
