ASIP, KACIP, JIPA Hold 'Copyright Law' Monthly Roundtable

AMMAN - Under the patronage of Chairman of the Arab Society for Intellectual Property (ASIP) Talal Abu-Ghazeleh, the Society in cooperation with the King Abdullah II Center for Intellectual Property (KACIP) and the Arab Society for Intellectual Property (JIPA) organize on Monday a roundtable on “Copyright Law: Realties and Enforcement”, at the Society’s headquarters, the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh College of Business/German University (TAGCB/GJU).
 
Director General of Jordan National Library Ma’moun Talhouni, will be the main speaker discussing several topics related to copyrights, laws and enforcement in Jordan.
 
“This initiative was taken by ASIP to enhance and promote awareness concerning the need to protect Intellectual Property Rights,” ASIP General Manager Mutasem Dmour told ag-IP-news Agency.
 
“ASIP believes that there is a need to regroup and unify efforts exerted by all the concerned parties to enhance such concepts among the people. Therefore, the three organizations decided to hold such events on a monthly basis,” he added.
 
ASIP is a specialized Arab professional body. Its main objective is to enhance and develop the protection of intellectual property system through various means of awareness and education, which explain the nature of work in this field and its effective role in the economy.
 
JIPA, a not-for-profit voluntary membership association, aims to contribute to positive economic growth in Jordan through increased levels of IP awareness in the Jordanian business community, enhanced infrastructure for intellectual property rights (IPRs) protection, and an internationally recognized IP industry in Jordan.
 

King Abdullah II Center for Intellectual Property, a non-profit organization established in 2003, is considered the first of its kind IP training center. Its board includes well-reputed Jordanian figures with long experience in IP representing both the public and private sectors.
