Regional Conference on Social Partnership in the Middle East Opens in Amman
19 Jun 2007The two-day event organized by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh College of Business/ German Jordanian University (TAGCB/GJU) and the regional program Near East/ Mediterranean/ Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), Amman office hosted key international and regional experts.
Participants tackled economical order, policies of economical order in the Middle East, in addition to several case studies in the region such as the impact of recent economic reforms in Egypt, the Arab Bank and the Shoman Foundation.

According to Peter Uecker, Dean of TAGCB/GJU, the conference is an excellent chance to analyze the concepts of social responsibility and social partnership in the framework of a social market economy.
"These concepts can act as a blueprint for a future development in the Middle East," he said.
"The exchange of views and discussion on a regional level between experts from Jordan and from its neighboring Arabian countries will be in the center of this conference," he added.
Uecker pointed out that TAGCB/GJU and KAS are seeking to involve stakeholders who share the interest in a new prospective on economic politics.
