Asma'a Al Assad receives Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh

The First Lady of the Syrian Arab Republic, Her Excellency Asma'a Al Assad received on Monday, June 25, 2006 in Damascus, Mr. Talal Abu- Ghazaleh and his accompanying delegation.
 
Discussions during the meeting revolved around programs in education, rehabilitation, training and capacity-building, including the Abu-Ghazaleh Cambridge IT Skills Certificate, as well as programs for qualifying accountants in Syria through the Arab Certified Public Accountant (ACPA) certificate program, which is granted by the Arab Society of Certified Accountants (ASCA) and the ACIPP Program and sponsored by the Arab Society for Intellectual Property(ASIP).  The Master's programs and other academic programs offered by the Abu-Ghazaleh College of Business/German Jordanian University were also discussed during the meeting.
 
In addition, they reviewed programs that have been shared with other United Nations specialized agencies, including programs for supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, implemented by the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Group in conjunction with the Information and Communications Technologies for Development in the Arab Region (ICTDAR) program of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). It was agreed to put all discussed topics for practical implementation.
