ASIP's cooperation with WIPO's Academy
03 Jul 2007July 3, 2007 - Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Chairman of ASIP, and Mr. Mu'tasem Dmour, Manager of ASIP, had their second meeting with WIPO's authorities, Mr. Mpazi Sinjela, Dean of WIPO Worldwide Academy, Ms. Nahla Haidar, Director of Technical Assistance and Capacity Building Bureau for Arab Countries, Mr. Samer Al-Tarawneh, Director of Technical Assistance and Capacity Building Bureau for Arab Countries and Mr. George Ghandour, Consultant of Economic Development Bureau for Arab Countries.
Each party had the opportunity to discuss its training programs and activities. Each party also referred to its role in integrating IP laws into societies and constructing IP awareness within communities. Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh recommended further developing the cooperation between WIPO Academy, ASIP and TAGCB in variety of ways. One of them is for the WIPO to accredit the Arab Certified Intellectual Practitioner Program (ACIPP), set-up a Joint Master Program in the Arab region, provide preparation courses at TAGCB for WIPO’s online exam and have WIPO Academy's Executive Programs offered in Jordan and the Arab region in cooperation with ASIP and TAGCB.
