MANAMA-------November 30th, 2010--------- HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman and CEO of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) delivered a key note speech at the graduation ceremony of the fourth batch of MBA students of the Arab Open University held under the Patronage of HE Mr. Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, chairman of the Shura Council at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in the Bahraini capital.
Dr. Samir Qasim Fakhro, director of the Arab Open University- Bahrain Branch, thanked Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh for accepting the invitation to speak at the ceremony which is considered a great honor especially for the graduates who will face the various challenges in their life when they start their careers.
In his speech, HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh congratulated Dr. Fakhro and the Arab Open University on this day saying: "My dear friend Dr. Fakhro: Your sons, the graduates, regard you as their role model in your morals, principles, modesty, love of knowledge and in your ability to make good use of knowledge. And today, my dear students you are looking at a great role model, our Patron, HE Ali Saleh Al-Saleh, in his dedication and noble services to the Kingdom of Bahrain as a citizen in government and as legislator. The role model is a mentor and advisor to those who seek success. I advise all graduates to choose a good role model and follow his or her principles."
"The graduation, as you are all aware, is the product of your efforts. But credit should also be given to your families, professors, friends, colleagues and the university. They are all proud of you today and celebrate this day as much as you do,," he added.
HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh encouraged students to be adventurous in their choices and to think of the future in a very comprehensive way because they represent the new generation, the new opportunities and the new world.
HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh presented students with three pieces of advice to follow.
"My first advice to you is to set your goals, and pursue them with maximum determination and faith, my second advice is to pay attention to the wheel of time and my third is to always remember that knowledge is an island in the sea of ignorance. As knowledge grows, the shores of its island grow, and its exposure to ignorance becomes greater. The more you know the more you realize how little you know and how much more there is for you to know and my fourth one is to look for the meaning in your dreams! And embark today to have them come true. I pray to God to have your dreams come true, because I am proud of your success as you are proud of it. Remember always that you are gifted and that you will become leaders, because this University was founded for the high achievers who will become leaders," he said.
The event celebrated graduates of both Business Administration (MBA) and Information and Communication Technology (MICT) programs which are issued by the Open University of Malaysia (OUM) and hosted by the Arab Open University – Bahrain branch.
A host of officials representing the governmental and private sectors, businessmen and families attended the event.
