TAGSB Holds Its Higher Advisory Board Meeting

Attendees tackled the latest development at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Graduate School of Business Administration and several new projects including a private university which will offer undergraduate business programs

AMMAN -----November 8, 2010------ The Higher Advisory Board of the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Graduate School of Business /German – Jordanian University (TAGSB/ GJU) held its meeting to discuss various topics of interest for the academic year 2010-2011.

During the meeting, Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, the Advisory Board chairman, stressed on the fact that TAGSB is aiming to be among the top 100 business schools in the world.TAGSB Holds Its Higher Advisory Board Meeting

Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh highlighted that the new name of the College previously known as Talal Abu-Ghazaleh College of Business has become the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Graduate School of Business (TAGSB).

In addition, the Board members were briefed on a new project to establish a private university to offer undergraduate business programs and the former TAG-Org Administration Building in Shmeisani is being prepared to host this new high-profile project with the present Council of the TAGSB will also serve as the Council of the private university.

In addition plans are underway to establish a university in Bahrain along the lines of TAGSB and will include an undergraduate program in addition to the MBA program.

Meanwhile, attendees welcomed Dr. Jawad Anani who joined the Council as a member.

The meeting tackled several key issues related to the development of the TAGSB such as the cooperation agreement with Microsoft to develop and train qualified programmers, the agreement with the International Finance Corporation for the delivery of corporate governance training programs in Jordan and in other Arab countries in addition to others.

The next meeting of the Board will be held on February 22, 2011.

The Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Graduate School of Business was established in 2006 to offer high quality business programs. It is the first college of its kind to represent a partnership between the private and the public sectors in the Arab world following an agreement signed between the German and Jordanian governments in 2005.

The MBA program at TAGSB is the first in the Arab world to achieve FIBAA prestigious accreditation. The program was unconditionally accredited for five years; which is the highest rank of initial accreditation that is only granted to programs which fully satisfy all requirements and quality standards.
