AIESEC Jordan Honors Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Society
28 Dec 2009 Amman, Jordan - 28 December 2009 - The Forum on Youth Leadership for an Emerging Jordan- Second Edition convened on December 17th upon the initiative of the AIESEC (Association Internationale des Étudiants en Sciences Économiques et Commerciales).The Forum activities included the honoring of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Society (TAG-Knowledge) as a distinct and unique initiative and in recognition of its efforts and valuable services it provides for a generation of young entrepreneurs by supporting and hosting their meetings and activities. A number of institutions sponsoring and supporting AIESEC were also honored, including the 4Ps – Integrated Media Communication, Consolidated Contractors Company, SABES-USAID, Umniah, as well as Mr. Walid Tawil, Chairman of AIESEC Jordan Supervisory Group.
The meeting was opened by Senator Akel Biltaji, Adviser to His Majesty King Abdullah II who stressed the active role of the youth in the nation building and in effecting change. He addressed the royal vision about the youth and their role in achieving advancement and highlighted the importance of partnership between public and private sectors. The Forum meetings were supported and sponsored by a number of leading Jordanian companies, including Umniah Company, Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC Jordan), the 4P's, and the Farida Group, which organized the Forum.
The Forum’s events also included an open debate to discuss topics related to youth leadership in establishing their own businesses, modern methods to acquire knowledge and develop personal skills, in addition to a series of workshops on the topics of leadership, environment and social involvement by companies and individuals.
The Forum decided to form a liaison group between university students and the private sector in order to create initiatives that bring both parties together to work for the advancement of the nation on various levels, especially at the Economic and Social levels.
Subsequently, the meeting of the sixth national conference of AIESEC was convened under the title "Activate the Potential of Young Leaders (Activate)" in the presence of 100 of the finest young Jordanians in order to develop their leadership and to be the nucleus that contributes to the development of society.
AIESEC is the world's largest student-run organization. It is active in over 1700 universities across more than 107 countries and territories around the world. It serves as an international platform enables young people to explore and develop their leadership potential and to have a positive impact in society.
Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Society is the latest initiative by Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Chairman and Founder of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization to perform its corporate social responsibility towards the Jordanian and Arab communities, and to be a hub for promoting intellect and knowledge, developing Arab youth and human resources, and qualifying the largest number of local professionals by providing them with competitive skills through exposure to knowledge and developments in the international community under the direct supervision of TAG-Org experts.
