The Minister of Local Government in the Palestinian National Authority visits Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Society

Amman, Jordan – 24 November 2009 - A high ranking delegation headed by H.E. Khalid Al-Qawasmi, Minister of Local Government in the Palestinian National Authority, comprising a number of heads of municipal councils in Palestine, visited Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Society (TAG-Knowledge) to get acquainted with the facilities and services provided to university students.


The delegation was received by Mr. Mustafa Nasereddin, International Affairs Executive Director of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) and Mr. Tarek Hamad, Executive Director of TAG-Knowledge, who briefed the delegation on the role of TAG-Knowledge in enhancing the skills and experience of students through online research and studies and various trainings, as well as fostering their sense of social responsibility.


Mr. Hamad also guided the guests on a tour around the TAG-Knowledge center and explained the various sections of the Center and the various services it provides to students.


His Excellency Engineer Khalid Qawasmi commended the leading role played by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization represented by its Chairman Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh in the enhancement of Arab knowledge and in serving the community. He called on other companies to adopt such initiatives that serve the community at large and students in particular.


Mr. Mustafa Nasereddin confirmed that the TAG-Org plans to implement the TAG-Knowledge model on the "Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Windows in Palestine" in terms of facilities, equipment and services, and even will benefit from the experience of TAG-Knowledge to ensure that the windows of knowledge in Palestine will be a developed and advanced model.


The visit comes after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between H.E. Khalid Al-Qawasmi, Minister of Local Government representing the Ministry of Local Government in the Palestinian National Authority and Mr. Mustafa Nasereddin, TAG-Knowledge International Affairs Executive Director representing the TAG-Knowledge to establish similar knowledge societies in different areas of the Palestinian National Territories.


The memorandum of understanding provides for attracting partnerships and mobilizing resources to finance the project to establish as many as 35 centers for "Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Windows in Palestine".


In conclusion, Mr. Hamad stressed the need for expediting the establishment of the knowledge centers in occupied Palestine, and added that TAG-Org is fully prepared to supply these centers with expertise and capabilities to achieve the best results in the service of our brothers in Palestine.

Talal Abu-Ghazaleh of Knowledge Society is the latest initiative by Mr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Chairman and Founder of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization to perform its corporate social responsibility towards the Jordanian and Arab communities, and to be a hub for promoting intellect and knowledge, developing Arab youth and human resources, and qualifying the largest number of local professionals by providing them with competitive skills through exposure to knowledge and developments in the international community under the direct supervision of TAG-Org experts.
