In response to Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh’s initiative Voting for ASIP'S Famous Arab Trademarks Soars

The Society received enormous number of filled questionnaires from all the Arab countries. The voting process continues through the website ( www.toparabbrands.com ) to determine the top 200 Arab trademarks into two categories, the first includes the most famous Arab trademarks generally and the second includes the most Arab trademarks according to sectors- Mutasem Al Dmour

AMMAN --- October 10, 2012 --- Voting for the most famous trademarks continues in response to the initiative launched by HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman of the Arab Society for Intellectual Property (ASIP).

According to the Arab Society for Intellectual Property (ASIP), a non-profit organization dedicated to raising the levels of awareness regarding Intellectual Property in the Arab region Executive Director Mr. Mutasem Al Dmour the response is unprecedented.

"The Society received enormous number of filled questionnaires from all the Arab countries. The voting process continues through the website ( www.toparabbrands.com ) to determine the top 200 Arab trademarks into two categories, the first includes the most famous Arab trademarks generally and the second includes the most Arab trademarks according to sectors," he said.

Al Dmour underlined the significance of this initiative which aims at highlighting Arab trademarks on an Arab and global levels, urging the public of all sectors (business sectors, chambers of commerce and industry, associations, professional unions, universities , and others) to

 participate. Awards will be presented to participants according to specific standards.

He stressed that a minimum number of votes shall be determined to consider a trademark famous within the categories; moreover, the minimum number of votes should represent at least five countries. The winner trademarks shall be announced according to the people’s vote through the computer and without any interference noting that a participant has the right to vote only once from the same email.

Implementing ASIP Board’s decisions, the management of the Society is working currently on the establishment of a new association for the protection of owners of famous Arab trademarks tasked with setting standards for Intellectual Property valuation mainly famous trademarks and to help trademark owners enhance the fame of their marks to become global.
