TAG-Confucius Delegation Particpates in the 6th Confucius Institute Conference in Beijing

BEIJING----- January 16, 2012------- A high profile delegation representing Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute (TAG-Confucius) took part in the 6th Confucius Institute Conference held at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing.



The delegation was headed by TAG-Confucius Director Mr. Mustafa Husseini and accompanied by the Institute’s board member Ms. Ridab Abutaleb and Mr. Zhang Chengyu Dean of TAG-Confucius.


From his part, Mr. Husseini said: "We are really happy to be part of this event. The annual Confucius Institute Conference is aimed at providing a platform for experience sharing, strengthening cooperation, and keeping close contact among global Confucius Institutes."



This year’s conference organized under the title “The Coming Ten Years for Confucius Institutes” was held with the participation of more than 2,000 university presidents and Confucius Institute representatives from 105 countries and regions.


The conference featured speeches by university presidents, Confucius Institute directors, and student representatives from the United States, Brazil, Thailand, and Botswana. During the conference, there were various activities such as the Principals’ Forums, Confucius Institute Directors’ Forums, and international teaching materials exhibit.


Following the conference, TAG-Confucius delegation headed to Shenyang Normal University- TAG-Confucius partner, and met with the University President Professor Lin Qun and Vice President Professor Zhang Hui and discussed the latest development and cooperation.

Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute was established in September 2008 to promote the Chinese language and culture, in order to reach a better mutual understanding between Arab and Chinese cultures. This is a one-of-a-kind initiative based on the cooperation agreement between Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) and the Confucius Institute in China. The Institute was named after Confucius, the world-renowned great thinker, educator and philosopher in Chinese history.
