BEIRUT - The Lebanon International Consulting Team (ICT) Company in cooperation with Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Digital Training (TAG Digital Training), a member of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global Digital (TAG.GD), and the Global Security Institute (GSI) has launched an advanced diploma program in Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the Lebanese American University (LAU). The program aims to empower participants with cutting-edge skills to effectively address cybersecurity challenges that governments and institutions encounter.

In the launching ceremony, Dr. Omran Ghazali, ICT CEO in the Middle East and North Africa, delivered an overview highlighting the importance of cybersecurity and AI,  stressing the need to train students in this field using the latest practices and methods to counterattack evolving cyber threats.

Dr. Ghazali praised the strategic partnership with both the TAG Digital Training and LAU, pointing out that participants in the four-month program will receive diplomas accredited by TAG Digital Training, ICT, LAU, and the GSI.

For his part, Mr. Burhan Al Ashkar, representative of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh in Lebanon for Culture and Media, has extended Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh’s best wishes to all diploma participants, reaffirming his unwavering keenness and commitment to supporting cybersecurity and AI initiatives, especially within reconstruction efforts and the ‘One Million Digital Master's Degree Scholarship Program’.

Mr. Al Ashkar further pointed out that the concept of cybersecurity dates back to the Cold War era in the 1970s, marked by the emergence of the first digital virus on the Advanced Research Projects Agency Network (ARPANET). In today’s widespread use of the internet and the accessibility of everyone to smart devices, cybersecurity has become an essential need for every individual, as everyone is vulnerable to cyber threats, Mr. Al Ashkar stated.

He further noted that the establishment of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh for Technology (TAGTech) factory at the Lebanese University campus reflects Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh’s strategic vision to facilitate technology transfer to Lebanese students and foster a culture of innovation in the tech sector. TAGTech factory is always open for participants to visit, offering them the opportunity to get a comprehensive overview of the manufacturing processes, and TAGTech products that currently compete with the best global brands in terms of quality, design, and price.
