AMMAN – HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), has patronized the Arab Women Media Day, organized by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum (TAG-KF), a member of TAG.Global, in cooperation with the Arab Women Media Center.

During the ceremony, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh called on all media professionals and representatives to fulfill their historical responsibilities in light of the critical period Palestine is experiencing today, mainly by documenting the historic victory achieved on October 7; which successfully confirmed the fragility of the brutal occupation in the face of the Palestinian defenders of their rights. He continued by stressing that what happened is a legendary victory that media representatives should document to reveal the extent of the failure incurred by the ruthless enemy forces in the ‘ground operations’ launched on the Gaza Strip.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh commended the steadfastness of the Palestinian people on their land, urging all those involved in the media to focus on and narrate the stories of these people’s power, pride, and determination in confronting the occupation and their resilience on their land against all the brutal inhuman massacres.

In addition, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh referred to the Zionist enemy genocide and the demolishing of buildings in the besieged Gaza Strip, describing such atrocities as  proof of their defeat at the hands of the Palestinian people and resistance, who triumphed in an unparalleled manner. He further reaffirmed his belief that the International Court of Justice would issue a verdict condemning the occupation and its genocide.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh also pointed to the importance of highlighting the greatness of the Palestinian people everywhere and teaching their victories at schools and universities, stressing that communication and education are keys to victory, indicating the significance of focusing on education as the most powerful weapon to liberate homelands, in parallel with the legendary Palestinian resistance in defending their homeland.

“The history of the Palestinian people is inscribed with determination and solid spirit rather than numbers,” Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh said, adding “The spirit doesn’t get old, we remain young with great hearts, and I live these years as a young man in an old body.”

For her part, journalist Ms. Mahasen Al-Imam, founder and chairman of the Arab Women Media Center, stated that the Arab Women Media Day this year is special, and therefore the Center decided to honor media women representatives as the ‘Knights of Truth’, due to their heroic resistance against the occupation with their professionalism and patriotism while covering events in Palestine and Jordan after October 7.

At the end of the ceremony, a group of journalists involved in covering the war on Gaza were honored, in the presence of a number of journalists from the Occupied Palestinian territories, a journalist from the Gaza Strip and a journalist from Yemen through video communication technology. That is in addition to honoring editors-in-chief and news managers in Jordanian TV channels.

The honorees talked about their experience in covering and reporting events as well as the oppressive procedures and practices imposed by the occupation to prevent them from conveying the truth, which amounted to the assassination of more than (130) journalists, and targeting their children and families.
