‘Abu-Ghazaleh Global’ and Al-Ahram Newspaper Enhance Cooperation
24 Sep 2023CAIRO - Mr. Ala’a Thabet, journalist and editor-in-chief of the Egyptian Al-Ahram Newspaper, has received in his office Ms. Samar Al-Labbad, vice-chair of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), Mr. Ahmad Fathy, TAG.Global executive director and development manager, and Mr. Tarek Al-Khatib, executive director in-charge of TAG.Global Cairo Office.
The meeting was held to discuss, and enhance, cooperation between Al-Ahram Newspaper and TAG.Global. Within the framework of this ongoing cooperation, TAG.Global has granted 20 new TAG-Tech laptops to the newspaper; of those manufactured by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh for Technology (TAGTech), in its factory in Egypt in cooperation with the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI).
Previously, TAG.Global had offered the newspaper a package of training programs meant to effectively contribute to achieving the goals of digital transformation and to keep pace with the technological revolution in the field of journalism, as part of the existing cooperation between the two sides.
During the meeting, Ms. Al-Labbad affirmed the importance of the mutual cooperation, referring to the deep professional ties between HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, TAG.Global founder and chairman, and the four-decade old Al-Ahram Newspaper, expressing her pride in TAG.Global’s constant support of national issues and digital transformation in the region.
For his part, Mr. Thabet welcomed Ms. Al-Labbad, noting the big leap in the field of digital transformation the world is undergoing and stressing the importance of utilizing technology in the field of journalism. He went on to emphasize that such transformation significantly improves the quality of news and expands access to information, where journalists can easily cover events as they happen, and share their news and reports on the spot.
In the same context, Al-Ahram Board of Directors applauded the existing cooperation with TAG.Global, which comes as an integral part of the Organization’s strategy that aims at supporting promising projects and development programs to promote sustainable development. Board Members also stressed that the contribution offered by TAG.Global is an important addition to Al-Ahram’s professional journalistic mission to keep pace with the requirements of the technological development and Information Age.
