TAGKF Hosts “Saemaul Undong … Seed of Global Peace” Lecture

AMMAN - Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum (TAGKF) hosted a lecture organized by the Jordanian Korean Forum under the title “Saemaul Undong … Seed of Global Peace”.

The aim of the lecture was to discuss local community development and transformation to a productive rather than a consumer society, which would lead to a more peaceful, equitable and advanced society.

During the lecture, So Jin Kwang, president of Saemaul Undong Movement in South Korea, defined peace, world peace and war and stressed the importance of freedom in human life.
 
The lecture was attended by participants interested in the Korean culture and volunteers from the Jordanian Korean Forum.

The lecture also included discussion on the methods and mechanisms for achieving peace and making people independent in determining their problems and developing and implementing their own objectives and plans.
 
Dr. So identified the requirements for world peace and how it would be achieved by the Saemaul Undong Movement.

For his part, Dr. Anas Talhouni, representative of Saemaul Undong Jordan and the founder and chairman of the Jordanian Korean Forum, thanked Dr. So for sharing his knowledge and experience with the Forum.

At the end of the lecture, certificates of appreciation were distributed to a number of members and volunteers.
