Abu-Ghazaleh Commends the Role of Engineers Association in the Kingdom
03 Jan 2018AMMAN - HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh highly commended the role exerted by the Jordan Engineers Association (JEA) stating that engineers are the cornerstone of the industrial, technological and construction transformation in the Kingdom.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh received a delegation representing the Association including President of the JEA Eng. Majed Al- Tabba'a accompanied by members of the Association’s Council Eng. Sari Zuaiter and Engineer Mohammad Al Rifa’i, as well as Secretary General of the Association Engineer Mohammad Abu-Afifeh, to discuss means of cooperation and mechanisms for developing relations between the two parties.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh recognized the JEA’s awareness, comprehensive efforts and approach in recognizing the needs of engineers and the country and affirmed his organization’s willingness to cooperate with the JEA in all fields, mainly to protect its members’ creativity and intellectual property rights through Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP), the largest IP firm in the world.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh discussed the potential for establishing a council to examine future needs for developing engineering education to generate real job opportunities for engineering graduates in a constantly evolving world. He referred to the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Academy’s goal to establish a department specialized in building knowledge, administrative and technical capacities of the engineers.
For his part, Al-Tabba'a noted that the partnership between the Association and TAG-Org is a strategic partnership between a successful national institution and one of the giant global corporations, adding that the partnership with the Organization enhances the JEA’s credibility in acquiring the best services in accordance with international standards in all its transactions and operations.
Meanwhile, Engineer Zuaiter stated that the participation of Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh at the 2nd Young Engineers Conference was an added value that had an enormous impact in making the event a success, reiterating the need to conduct studies that examine the status of engineering education in Jordan and methods for developing it to bridge the gap between education and labor market requirements.
Head of the Social Responsibility Fund at the Association Engineer Al Refai briefed the attendees on the success of the social corporate role achieved annually by the Association through its housing renovation program of the houses of Jerusalemites in the Old City of Jerusalem and the “Faz’et Ahel” campaign for the renovation of houses of unfortunate families in the Jordanian governorates, stressing the possibility of cooperation between the two parties in this domain, as well as joint cooperation in entrepreneurship and creativity fields through the Association’s Engineering Creativity Committee.
Moreover, Abu-Afifeh highlighted the areas of cooperation with TAG-Org mainly in financial audit, technological capacity building and training. He also underscored the intent of the JEA to open new untraditional markets all around the world mainly in Germany, China and Africa noting that the Association’s strategy is to provide Jordanian engineers with the required skills and languages to become global, not local, in order for them to be able to compete for opportunities in new job markets and enhance business environment in the Kingdom at the same time.
