Abu-Ghazaleh: National Music Conservatory to Host Arab Youth Philharmonic Orchestra in Amman Next July
06 Apr 2017 AMMAN- The National Music Conservatory (NMC), part of the Noor Al Hussein Foundation announced that it will be hosting the Arab Youth Philharmonic Orchestra (AYPO) July 3-13 in Amman.The visit will contribute to the enriching of the Arab and global music scene through conducting workshops that conclude with the final event held under the patronage of HM Queen Noor Al Hussein July 12 at the Roman Amphitheater in Downtown Amman.
HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, representing King Hussein Foundation and supporter of musical and cultural events in Jordan such as the Jordanian National Orchestra Association (JOrchestra) expressed his happiness in supporting the visit of the Arab Youth Philharmonic Orchestra stressing the importance of such events which coincide with Jordan hosting the Arab Summit and crystalizing its objective in achieving complete Arab cooperation by hosting more than 60 young musicians from various Arab countries.
Hana Shaheen, King Hussein Foundation CEO stressed the importance of hosting the Arab Youth Philharmonic Orchestra which comes in line with the message of the Foundation and a reflection of the vision of HM Queen Noor regarding the role of culture and art in shaping the national identity through various initiatives such as establishing the NMC in 1986 as the first academy for Arab and international music and hosting various key orchestras and musicians.
Early 2017, Dr. Fawzi Al Shami, the Arab Youth Philharmonic Orchestra director contacted the NMC to host the Orchestra in Jordan with King Hussein Foundation welcoming the event due to its role in promoting tourism, culture and art.
Noting that the proceeds of the closing concert will be going to support young musicians in Jordan through the National Music Conservatory.
Shaheen added that the event represents an example to a young Arab Summit which reflects the true meaning of Arab unity.

National Music Conservatory:
The National Music Conservatory (NMC), established by the Noor Al Hussein Foundation in 1986, is Jordan's premier institution for the development of talented local musicians and the promotion of music appreciation in Jordan. NMC demonstrates the power of music to promote understanding, peace and unity across cultural divides.
NMC has trained thousands of students since its inception. It assists advanced students to pursue their music specialization abroad, and it campaigns in Jordan to integrate music as a fundamental component of education.
Arab Youth Philharmonic Orchestra:
Arab Youth Philharmonic Orchestra (AYPO) is a symphony orchestra includes youth musicians from all over the Arab world.
AYPO was founded in 2006 in Damascus, by Dr. Fawzy El-Shamy, former director of the Cairo Music Conservatory. The Arab Youth Philharmonic Orchestra symbolizes a vision of harmony and peaceful cooperation in the Arab world. It consists of 85 young musicians from 11 Arab countries.
