TAG-Org with UNESCO Amman Office and Petra Authority Presented the Successful Concert for the Launch of the PETRA Album
02 Aug 2016AMMAN - Under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Dana Firas, a spectacular concert for the launch of the new album “PETRA” by Luca Aquino and the Jordanian National Orchestra took place in the mesmerizing archeological site of Little Petra on July 23, 2016. The special event saw the participation of HRH Princess Dana, HE Ms. Lina Enab the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities and the General Secretary Mr. Issa Gammoh, HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh and several ambassadors and high representatives and officials of the international and local institutions. The concert is the result of a long and partnership established between TAG-Org, the UNESCO Office in Amman and the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA).
After the welcome remarks of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, the nine brilliant musicians delighted the audience on the notes of the original compositions of PETRA album, enhanced by the natural acoustic of the site. The renowned Italian jazz musician Luca Aquino (trumpet) led the ensemble with mastery: Natalino Marchetti (accordion), Sergio Casale (flute) and Jordanian National Orchestra ensemble with Anna Maria Matuszczak (violinist), Bassem al Jaber (contrabassist), Brad Broomfield (percussionist), Vardan Petrosyan (violists) and Laurentiu Baciu (oboist), and the violist Christopher Jenkins performed together the vibrant music. The event was organized within the framework of the UNESCO global campaign #Unite4Heritage. The concert is a part of a broad project that aims to promote Petra as safe and incomparable charming touristic destination and to support the tourism in Jordan internationally.
HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh indicated, “The archaeological city of Petra has always been important in promoting Tourism in Jordan.” He added, “JOrchestra was established through King Hussein Foundation’s National Music Conservatory to fulfill HM Queen Noor Al Hussein’s vision of music being a vital role in promoting Jordanian heritage and tourism.”
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh thanked Chairman of the Petra Development and Tourism Authority HE Mr. Mohammad Nawafleh, Italian Ambassador to Jordan HE Giovanni Brauzzi, Minister of Culture HE Mr. Jeryes Samawi, and UNESCO representative to Jordan HE Ms. Farina Costanza, as well as other representatives, for working on promoting tourism and cross-cultural heritage in Jordan, and in turn highlighting Petra for what it is: a Jordanian treasure representing the beauty and history of Jordan.
The album is produced by the newly established Talal Abu-Ghazaleh International Records, a sister company of Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property, born to develop the music industry in Jordan and to provide specialized services in copyrights related to music production and broadcasting. HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh received a special gift from Dr. Emad Ejaizeen (PDTRA Deputy Chief Commsione) for his generous contribution to the development and support of the image of Petra internationally through the PETRA project.
