TAG-Org Participates in the 55th Arab International Beirut Book Fair

Mikati visits TAG-Org's booth and stresses on the role of the group in issuing publications
BEIRUT-------December 27, 2011---------Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org)-Beirut office took part in the "Biele" the 55th Arab International Beirut Book Fair organized by the Arab Cultural Club in cooperation with the Union of Lebanese Publishers and held under the patronage of Prime Minister Najib Mikati in the presence of high ranking officials.
During the inauguration ceremony attended by high ranking officials, Mikati delivered a speech in which he said: "I am pleased to open this evening the Arab International Beirut Book Fair at its 55 session, which has become an annual cultural event that book lovers await impatiently and, that is hosted with pride by our beloved capital Beirut.”
The Premier stressed that the intensive participation that we see in this event is a clear evidence that Lebanon is fine, and culture and free speech are fine too.
“This exhibition has become the focal point for intellectual convergence and a cultural gathering for educated Arabs. I must on this occasion pay tribute to the Arab Cultural Club and the Syndicate of Publishers’ Union in Lebanon and the Committee of the Arab International Beirut Book Fair for organizing this exhibition and its perseverance to ensure the success of its activities and attracting audiences, despite the critical situation prevailing in our country and in the region.”
He added: "Our true wealth is in the knowledgeable, learned and educated human capital and in the next well-informed generation that will confront the future challenges with an open mind, wisdom, and enlightened vision."
At the end, he wished "those in charge of the exhibition all success in their cultural endeavors, and the visitors to find all what they aspire and look for to satisfy their yearning for true culture that promotes respect for human beings."
Mr. Waref Kumayha, executive director of TAGI Beirut office presented a copy of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Accounting dictionary to Prime Minister Najib Mikati who stressed on the role of the group in issuing publications.
Among TAG-Org’s publications which were displayed at the Fair: the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Information and Communication Technology (TAG ICT) Dictionary, an English-Arabic publication of about 6,500 ICT terms. It was produced to serve various goals, one of which is meeting the needs of ICT specialists and students in universities, colleges and vocational institutions by providing necessary explanations for various terms rather than merely equivalent meanings or synonyms.
In addition to the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) – International Public Sector Accounting Standards ( IPSAS ), Handbook of International Standards on Auditing and Quality Control, International Financial Reporting Standard for Small and Medium-sized Entities ( IFRS for SMEs ), Handbook of International Quality Control, Auditing, Review, Other Assurance, and Related Services Pronouncements, in addition to others.
