Al Yarmouk University to Establish “Knowledge Center” in Collaboration with Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization

IRBID ---- November 1, 2011 --- HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman and CEO of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org), discussed with Prof. Abdullah AlMoussa, Yarmouk University president, the initiative proposed by HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh to establish a knowledge center in collaboration with and under the umbrella of the Yarmouk University to serve the North of the Kingdom.

The meeting was also attended by deans, faculty members in addition to a host of officials and representatives, and private sector representatives in Irbid, as well as a number of TAG – Org executives.

Attendees welcomed the idea which reflects the importance of partnership between public institutions like the Yarmouk University and private enterprises like TAG-Org.

“This is a bridge reflecting the attention dedicated to youth empowerment, and to the development of the higher education,” AlMoussa said.

He stressed that the new technology has imposed new reality in all fields, especially in the education and qualification sector.

Prof. AlMoussa proposed to establish a kind of partnership with a renowned organization like TAG-Org to have Yarmouk University graduates distinguished and competitive. AlMoussa thanked the financial and banking sector for their understanding and contribution to the University programs to deliver its mission.

On his part, Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh proposed several practical ideas for implementation mainly establishing an advisory council representing the enterprises and the business sector which the needs of the sector will be properly defined to qualify the graduates, and develop new programs that meet the business sector’s needs in all fields such as in administration, legal accountancy, and Islamic accountancy.

HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh added that such cooperation will add another dimension of partnership with the whole business sector in the region.

Discussions, interpositions, and enquiries were raised to clarify the project’s idea and goals, and it was agreed to start a dialogue to set up the implementation plan.
