TAGI and IYF Sign MoU to Empower Youth

According to the MoU, the two parties will establish a joint work team for identifying and considering future opportunities and organize conferences and forums focused on youth related issues
AMMAN----October 30, 2011------ Talal Abu-Ghazaleh & Co. International (TAGI), member of the Talal Abu- Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org), and International Youth Foundation (IYF), a non -profit organization, signed on Tuesday a Memorandum of Understanding for future cooperation in youth-related issues that are of mutual interest to both parties.
According to the MoU which was signed at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Graduate School of Business, the two parties will establish a joint work team for identifying and considering future opportunities and organize conferences and forums focused on topics that address the youth from various aspects.
HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, TAG-Org chairman and CEO said: "We are really happy to cooperate with the International Youth Foundation regarding youth issues. The youth have always been at the center of our focus and strategies. This MoU will enhance our contribution to the world of youth generously and will cover various fields."
IYF President and CEO William Reese said:" The World Economic Forum (WEF) held at the Dead Sea put front and centered the challenges as well as the opportunities for youth to find their places in today’s marketplace and civic life. This new partnership is very much in harmony with the spirit of the WEF."
The partnership will ensure the active engagement of youth in several regional events and youth conferences, while sparking new youth development initiatives designed to strengthen young people’s skills and community ties through a range of voluntary activities.
The two parties will work on several ideas including a Youth Knowledge Summit in Morocco in 2012, a conference on “Knowledge Development” that would serve as a foundation for the establishment of a youth learning academy built on an ICT platform in Jordan, a conference entitled “Listening to the Youth” to be held in Jordan which will invite young people to talk openly about their problems and a TAG-Knowledge Prize in Jordan and other countries.
Meanwhile, both parties will cooperate in other areas of interest such as the reform of the Jordanian vocational training and education system including technical assistance to establish the TAG-Polytechnic in collaboration with the German Government and under the German Jordanian University and fostering of youth volunteerism in Jordan through the development of an electronic database of national volunteer opportunities in addition to others.
