The Jordanian National Orchestra Association Presents its Christmas Annual Concert, with George Tomb

AMMAN  - December 10, 2015 - The Jordanian National Orchestra Association (JOrchestra) presents its annual Christmas Concert under the title ‘JOrchestra and George Tomb’, with guest star Ronza Tomb, Guest composer Samir Tomb and conductor Mohammad Sidiq. On December 13th at 6:00 pm at The Royal Cultural Center.

The rich program of the Concert held in the presence of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh will include ten compositions of the repertoire by George and Samir Tomb and three pieces dedicated to the Christmas spirit conducted by Mohammad Sidiq.

George Tomb is the youngest Lebanese Composer to have his music performed by the Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Dr. Joanna Nachef. Tomb is already a member of SACEM, Paris, and ASCAP, USA and has been accepted in the selective Hollywood Music Workshop with director Lilo Belotto. George Tomb took private courses in composition and orchestration with the renowned Hollywood composer Mr. Conrad Pope, who composed among others, the music of Harry Potter, The Legend of Zorro, The Hobbit, as well as the renowned Hollywood composer Mr. Chris Young, who composed the music of Spider Man. He performed in small auditions at the Julliard Music School in New York, the Berkley College of Music in Boston, and El Camino College in Los Angeles, where his collaboration with Dr. Nachef started. 

The guest star Aida Tomb, also known as Ronza, a name given to her by Poet Said Akl, is the daughter of the famous Lebanese artist Maroun Tomb. She obtained a diploma in Western Classical Singing and Opera from the Lebanese National Higher Conservatory of Music. In 1987, she studied Lyrical Opera performance then spent two years studying vocal techniques with Australian- Greek opera singer Penny Pavlakis. She has been also specialized in “Solfège” for six years with Toufic Succar, former director of the Lebanese National Higher Conservatory of music.  Ronza received an award for the best performance in singing at the festival of the fourth Arabian television in Tunis for the song " ( SOUWAR )  for Mansour Rahbani in 1988. She performed in a number of religious and folkloric concerts, as a solo singer, with the choir of Toufic Succar and the choir of N.D.U in Lebanon, Vatican, Canada, and America. She was also a jury in several shows such as Studio el fan, Murex d’Or, Francophonie and Star Club.
