Abu-Ghazaleh Chairs N.Y. Council for Smart Urbanization (CSU) Board meeting
01 Nov 2015NEW YORK – November 1, 2015 - HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Chair of the Honorary Council of the Consortium for Sustainable Urbanization (CSU), presented invaluable recommendations during a Consortium’s Board meeting held in New York.
The Consortium for Sustainable Urbanization is a New York based non-profit organization formed to promote a better understanding of the role of sustainable urbanization and resilient design in the planning of our cities with a new found optimism about the urban future.
During the meeting, all the members expressed their gratitude to the Chair for his support.
One of the important recommendations highlighted by Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh is to establish a task force for finding smart city solutions for incoming migrants to the cities.
In addition, he underlined the importance of concluding a Memorandum of Understanding with the UNHabitat and to have influential partners like the United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), American Institute of Architects, RPA, Digital Technologies for Sustainable Urbanization Network (iTSUN), and the World Urban Campaign.
The Consortium is committed to bringing together the different stakeholders for conferences and exchanges of innovative policies and best practices applicable to both developing and developed regions of the world.
Its programs are meant to appeal to a broad audience that includes policy makers, non-governmental organizations, planning and design professionals, academicians, the private sector, United Nations representatives, students and the general public. The Consortium often collaborates in programming with other organizations committed to the same goals with the objective of expanding its mission to larger audiences both local and global.
